GOODS AND SERVICES TAX RATE TO ZERO EFFECTIVE 1ST JUNE 2018
As per Government’s announcement on 27th May 2018, Goods and Services Tax (GST) will be
zero-rated from 1st June 2018. As your utility provider, below are further explanation on the prorated GST that will be charged in June 2018 bill for your consumption.
FAQ on GST 0%
1. Why is the GST still charged to the customers even though it is zero-rated effective 1st June 2018?
As per our Bill we will have spilt bill for period May 2018 (with 6% GST) and another bill June 2018 (with Zero % GST). Total amount to be paid – for 30 days consumptions will be summarize on second bill.
Example:
Bill Period: 15/05/2018 – 14/06/2018
A.) 1st Bill – With 6% GST charge from 15/05/2018 – 31/05/2018
B.) 2nd Bill – GST 0% apply from 01/06/2018 – 14/06/2018
Total Consumption Bill = A + B
2. Why is there still a GST column in the electricity bill?
The GST column shows the amount that will be charged GST. Prior to June 1, the GST rate was 6%. From 1 June 2018, the GST rate is 0%.

4. What are changes that occur on Malakoff Utilities bills?
Electricity consumption starting 1 June 2018 standard rate at 6% will be changed to 0%.
